Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the quickest way to get in touch?
A: The best way is to use the phone, if you need answers quickly or a rush appointment. If you email us we will try to get back to you in 48 hrs.

Q: Why do I need to book?
A: This allows us to repair the  iterms you give us within a five working day period.
Also we do not have the staff to deal with the demand.

Q: You do not advertise your address on the sit why is this.
A: Most of the address is there. We are not always availabe to see people due to work load. We may also be away from the workshop. If we know you are coming to see us, we can make sure that someone is in to see you. That way you do not have a wasted journey. It also allows us to spend time with you sorting out your repair.

Q: Do you repair fibreglass?
A: Yes, But we do not repair carbonfibre.

Q: How strong is the repair?
A: The repair is almost as strong as the undamaged unit because we use the same material that the unit is made of.
Q: Do you do paint work?
A: The short answer, No.

Q: How do I know if my fairing is repairable using plastic welding?
A: All fairings and plastic parts should have a alpha code marked on the inside
e.g < ABS > or < PP > this indicates the materal and that it can be welded.

Q: What if I can not find the code?
A: 1. Some older panels do not have a code printed.
    2. It may be hidden behined the foam/heat shield stuck to the inside.
    3. It may be thermo set or another type of plastic which can not be plastic welded.

Q:  If there is not a code on my faring how do you know if it can be repaired using plastic welding?
A:  There is a test we can do to find out what material it is, it will also indicate if it is weldable. We will need the part to do the test.

Q: Do you repair plastic petrol tanks?
A:  We do not at the moment. We do not repair metal petrol tanks ether.

Q: Can I send you photos of the damage.
A: Yes you can, please follow the guide lines on our contact page. If you do not we will not be able to deal with your photo enquiry.

Q: Why do you not price the repair from pictures that are sent.
A: We do but it is only a ball park figure. We need to know more about the damage than the information supplied by a photo and some of that informaton can only be obtained by touch.

Q: Can we post parts to you?
A: We are happy to recieve your damaged parts in the post. Follow guide lines on the repair and postage page. Who you use to dispatch your items to us with is up to you. It also maybe a good idea to let us know you have posted it, by text of email.

Q: What happens if I change my mind once Ive sent you the iterm?
A: Once we have been in contact about the price, it is up to you; but do not leave it to long, otherwise you will incur storage charges at £5 per day per iterm. We have reluctantly introduced this charge because some customers have been using us as a dump because they have found something they think is better on the internet. You will need to pay us return postage. Do not delay in sending out your cheque for return postage, you may still incur storage charges.
Q:What do I do If I do not want my part/s back?
A: Email us us stating you no longer requir the part/s and you are happy for us to dispose of them by which ever means we think fit. If the part/s have incured fees we may sell the part/s to recover some of our costs.
